Giovanni – First & 10

  • In 1672, Giovanni Cassini used a method using parallax (angular distance) to find the distance from the Earth to Mars which calculated the distance to the sun.
  • About the Giovanni 1st & 10:  Using computer vision, the operator can easily draw the line while establishing chroma key settings for each frame of video.
    • Computer vision is less complicated and more cost effective than using encoded camera heads and lenses to set the line.
    • In the Giovanni system, the operator controls the location settings of the virtual line.  Once in place, the system automatically recognizes the lines and tracks the camera.
    • The advanced chroma key technology accurately paints the virtual line under players and logos on the field of play.
  • Tips:  Operator should be looking at the exact shading of cameras that will be used in the game.
  • Key feature:  This application can be modified to operate a virtual insertion graphic for advertisements and other predetermined data.
